guillaume aubry (France)

Guillaume Aubry is marked by architecture. He studied in France (Lille and Paris) and Japan where he prepared a Master in urban sociology at Tokyo University (Euro-Japanese AUSMIP research program). He worked for a year in an architecture office in Beijing. In 2007 he graduated as an architect in Paris and launched his own architecture studio FREAKS freearchitects with two partners.

From 2007 to 2009, he took part in the post-diploma research program La Seine, directed by the Canadian artist Tony Brown, at the Fine Arts School in Paris. Since then, he has been reconsidering his work within the art context and participated in several residencies abroad (India, Armenia, Singapore, Sweden, Finland...). Furthermore, he led workshops (Istanbul Biennial, Bourges Biennial...) and developed site-specific installations and collaborative art works.
