veronika tzekova (Bulgaria)
Veronika Tzekova, born in 1973, is based in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2001,
Veronika Tzekova graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree from the
Dutch Art Institute, where she conducted postgraduate interdisciplinary
research in Visual Arts and Media. In 2004-05 Veronika Tzekova participated
in the Bahaus Kolleg VI, Transnationak Spaces postgraduate programme
in Dessau (Germany) with a grant from the Federal Cultural Foundation.
She has presented her projects and art works in solo and group exhibitions
in Paris, Ljubljana, Luxembourg, Vienna, Belgrade, Kassel, Dessau, Berlin,
Ochtrup, Istanbul, Enschede, Amsterdam, Thessaloniki, Bratislava, Denver,
Toronto and Sofia. Recently, she has been part of several artist residencies
in France, Austria and Turkey. Media used by Tzekova includes sculptures,
site-specific installations, photography and digital images. She often
uses various advertisement media and performances as well. Lately, Tzekova
has been taking part in urban and street art projects.
