miquel garcía (Spain)
Miquel García is based in Barcelona, Spain. In his projects,
he uses everyday objects (such as video, graffiti, photography and jewellery).
He has completed residencies in Axeneo7 (Quebec, Canada), MCOs Art (Oporto,
Portugal) and Hangar (Barcelona). In 2006, he received an exchange scholarship
from Can Xalant (Mataro, Spain) for a project and display in Medellin
(Colombia).
García has exhibited in a collective, GlobalKiosk in the Art Room
of the Government, Ars Battica Triennial at Casino Luxembourg, Biennial
of Turku (Finland), la Biennale de Vic, La Biennale Int Albaic (Almeria)
and in the festival of LOOP ’06. His work has been shown in international
exhibitions of jewellery such as Medalls War and On my Honor and has
been seen in San Francisco, London, Berlin, Munich, Paris and Milan.
In 2003, García won the Carta Blanca scholarship for the project Contemporary
Jewellery Transforma. In 2001, he represented Barcelona at the Biennial
of Young Artists of Europe and the Mediterranean in Sarajevo.
